slocate /dev/tty gives result:
nhh221 ~ # slocate /dev/tty
/dev/tty0
/dev/tty1
/dev/tty2
...

but it shouldn't because /dev is devfs isn't ? BTW, I use udev now.

Doesn't happen for me.  Can you attach your /etc/updatedb.conf as text/plain?

slocate 'dev/tty' gives the output only as user root, not as normal user

added ramfs to the prune list
