Description Thomas Capricelli 2015-02-20 12:24:10 UTC
I have installed the net-misc/chrome-remote-desktop-40.0.2214.44 on my ~amd64 computer. Once chromium is restarted, i can not share my computers. When I try to, it makes me download a *deb file and i can't get the number you usually get.
My guess is that chromium isn't aware of the files installed by net-misc/chrome-remote-desktop.

Reproducible: Always

chrome-remote-desktop is a headless server you're responsible for launching. it does not integrate with your existing desktop.

When I want to share my computer using this, chrome makes me download the exact same *.deb that is used by this ebuild.... so somehow chrome is supposed to use something in this deb to help me share my computer.

How are we suppose to have chrome remote desktop sharing work under chrome/gentoo then .. ? If it's not this package, anything else we should/could do ?

i'm not familiar with how the shared runtime works as i don't use that flow. this package will set up a dedicated Xvfb server that you connect to. there is no local flow.
