smtp.gentoo.org now seems to be capable of using IPv6. Unfortunately, for IPv6 it does not yet have an RDNS entry. Therefore mail servers (mine for instance) refuse to accept mail from it and it has to retry using IPv4: Feb 18 21:15:17 [postfix/smtpd] NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[2001:470:ea4a:1:5054:ff:fec7:86e4]: 450 4.7.1 Client host rejected: cannot find your reverse hostname, [2001:470:ea4a:1:5054:ff:fec7:86e4]; from=<double-bounce@gentoo.org> to=<me@host.example> proto=ESMTP helo=<smtp.gentoo.org> Feb 18 21:37:09 [postfix/smtpd] NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[2001:470:ea4a:1:5054:ff:fec7:86e4]: 450 4.7.1 Client host rejected: cannot find your reverse hostname, [2001:470:ea4a:1:5054:ff:fec7:86e4]; from=<bugzilla-daemon@gentoo.org> to=<me@host.example> proto=ESMTP helo=<smtp.gentoo.org> Solution: Install a reverse DNS entry for 2001:470:ea4a:1:5054:ff:fec7:86e4, so that mail servers don't think, smtp.gentoo.org is a spam bot :)
