I obtained the firefox source ebuild from here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=33311&action=view It fails when it tries to apply the patch: mozilla-firebird-amd64.patch Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download and save the ebuild linked to above and save it in /usr/portage/net-www/mozilla-firefox/ 2. Run "ebuild /usr/portage/net-www/mozilla-firefox/mozilla-firefox-0.9.ebuild digest" to generate the digest for firefox-0.9 (I had to do this but YMMV). 3. Run "emerge -av mozilla-firefox" and say "Yes" to the prompt. Actual Results: I get the following error: * Applying mozilla-firebird-amd64.patch... * Failed Patch: mozilla-firebird-amd64.patch! * * Include in your bugreport the contents of: * * /var/tmp/portage/mozilla-firefox-0.9/temp/mozilla-firebird-amd64.patch-17441.out !!! ERROR: net-www/mozilla-firefox-0.9 failed. !!! Function epatch, Line 322, Exitcode 0 !!! Failed Patch: mozilla-firebird-amd64.patch! Expected Results: Finished the build successfully, or at least failed a different part. Created attachment 33360 [details] Patch output showing the errors This is the file that the error output said to include in the bug report.
well, is there any reason, you file up a new bug instead of adding your error there? And do you think your severity is well chosen?
Indeed. comment #2 is right on the money. Take this to the other please.
