The latest amd64 stage3 is from 2014.12.04, over 2 months old. A lot has changed during that time so a new install using this stage needs significant updates just to get started.

Yeah, I know. I'm working on getting this fixed.
I have to push some changes that allowed my server to build stages this week[1][2] and more to fix the remaining issues.

The stages resumed building, so I'm closing this bug.
