Description Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-06-15 10:32:27 UTC
I was just testing out version 0.5 on gentoo amd64,
and I ran into a coule problems. I reported them upstream (see URL), but wanted to file here too as a reminder for me to look at it in the future.

Firstly, video plays fine, but audio doesn't. I have
etc/mplayer.conf setup to use alsa1x as the audio
driver, and the plugin is configured to use 'mplayer
chosen' which I assume means what is in mplayer.conf.
Choosing alsa from the xmmsmplayer config menu produces
the same results. Choosing the expirimental xmms
output plugin support causes xmms to hang immediately
when I start the video.

Secondly, when I stop playing the movie, the mplayer
child process still runs. I tried playing moviea, then
stopped, played movieb. xmms hung when i tried to
start movieb. I did a 'ps x' to see the moviea mplayer
process. I killed it, and movieb started.
