Please NOTE: The 0.6 series is in the process of being deprecated and the 0.6.25 release is the last release of the series that will receive new additions or enhancements. It will continue to receive critical bug fixes to support distributions with long term support. The major focus of development will be on the 0.7 series. The current development release is 0.7.01, released January 11, 2015. Reproducible: Always
I'd like to second this request, as there are now a few backends already broken and not being fixed in the 0.6.x branch. Please bring the 0.7.x branch into portage.
I'd also like to see this happening, the Google Drive backend is broken because Google deprecated the API and a version bump would be appreciated.
I would sleep better as well if I could be sure to have working daily updates due to a working version..
Created attachment 404618 [details] ebuild for duplicity-0.7.03
Tested with my local duply setup on ~amd64.
tested on amd64 and it works like a charm.
Thanks for the ebuild, works fine on ~amd64. Unfortunately Google Drive support is still broken because the backend needs to be adapted to the new OAuth requirement.
Latest version is now 0.7.06.
Any News? It would be nice if 0.7.x will be in portage, as 0.6.x becomes more and more outdated.
There is also bug #513820, a security issue, which has not been dealt with in more than a year. I assume this means that app-backup/duplicity is no longer maintained.

It looks like upstream considers the 0.7 series stable, so I'll try to get around to testing it.
Hi Richard, have you had any success with the 0.7.x series? I would really love to have a working version of Duplicity back in portage. Three days ago 0.7.0.7 was released.
0.7.07.1 added to the tree.
