this look like 49211 , but i guess your makeopts are already -j1 ?

Try without ccache.

still the same problem with ORBit2-2.10.3

Comment 3 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-08 02:35:05 UTC
and this is without ccache & makeopts=-j1 set ? You might want to recompile libIDL as well.

This seems to be a local problem, you are the only one reporting here.

Comment 6 Allan Graves 2004-10-20 07:13:05 UTC
(i tried with the no ccache and -j1 as per recommendations. I normally have ccache and -j2 for my options. Interestingly enough, my friends alpha gentoo box has the same emerge built successfully. I don't see any other info requested in the bug.)

Comment 7 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-25 06:37:20 UTC
recompiled libIDL ?
Comment 8 Allan Graves 2004-11-01 08:44:38 UTC
unsure which bug i should be entering data in. I've rebuilt libIdl to 0.8.4 with no ccache and -j1. Rebuilt libOrbit, tryed both 2.12.0 and 2.10.3.....no such luck.
Comment 9 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-02 00:34:25 UTC
how about the full build log?
Comment 10 Allan Graves 2004-11-02 04:23:25 UTC
i apologize for my ignorance, but where are the build logs located? A google search seems to indicate that its some user set path, and I am uncertain how to find out what this is set to.
Comment 11 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-02 10:49:52 UTC
try doing:

emerge orbit 2>&1 | tee /tmp/orbit.log

and then attach the orbit.log to this bug as a file attachment.

log of orbit 12.0 build
Comment 13 Pawel Bugalski 2004-11-17 14:48:52 UTC
I had exactly the same problem (but on x86 machine) i've found a solution on gentoo forums. You have glib emerged "in the future" make is complaining about clock skew. For me reemerging of glib, and then reemerging of orbit helped.
BTW: i belive the reason problem occures is NOT a bug in gentoo, because it's imposible to fight against badly set clocks :). However I belive that ebuild should in such case stop showing an error message (which doesn't happen starting from 2.12.0, which is a MAJOR bug).
Comment 14 Allan Graves 2004-12-03 07:41:50 UTC
rebuilt *entire* orbit tree with -j1 and no features... it works. thank you for the help.
Comment 15 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-03 18:38:24 UTC
Great work, closing.
