When I click on the 'Language' button on GDM (graphical greeter), it appears to crash and restart. (I get the commandline screen briefly.) I certainly don't get the language change dialog. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click the 'Language' button on the graphical greeter. 2. 3. Actual Results: GDM quits and restarts. Expected Results: Allowed me to change the language for the session. hm... the latest gdm in portage is gdm-2.4.4.7-r1.ebuild.
OK, so maybe it's that one. The version in the current stable PPC portage set. I couldn't find an easy way to check its version number, so I guessed based on it coming with GNOME 2.6.0.
anything relevant in your gdm logs ? -> /var/lib/log/gdm/*
I don't know. As I mentioned on another bug report, PPC-stable was too unstable for normal use on my machine, so I had to change distributions. I no longer have that file.
not enough info, closing.
this has been investigated & fixed by one of the arch teams btw. gdm 2.4.4.7-r1 and up should be safe.
