Description David Chart 2004-06-14 01:28:57 UTC
When trying to open a local file using the Open... menu command, Epiphany crashes. It can open the file perfectly well as my home page (set prior to upgrade), and Mozilla can open the same file perfectly well through the dialog.

GNOME, Terminal, and Evolution running. This is a PPC-Stable system, recently updated, with gnome-spell and pan from unstable.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Epiphany
2. Use the Open... command to open a local html file.
3.

Actual Results:
Epiphany crashed.

Expected Results:
Opened the file as a web page.

Have you tried using strace to check where epiphany crashes? Is it missing a file, or is it a segmentation fault? If so, you might try to rebuild the packages epiphany is linked against. Use ldd to find out which libraries are in use.

I recently updated the stable version of epiphany in portage. Can you try remerging it and see if it fixed the problem?

No answer. Closing.
