At the bottom of the page, the links to the x86-amd64 package list contains a typo. It reads
    http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/pr/releases/20140826/x86-amd64-pkg.txt
when it should read
    http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/pr/releases/20140826/x86-amd64.pkg.txt
