Simple test case: connect to a ssl jabber server using gossip (like im.gentoo.org, also happens on other servers)... Gossip will crash on connection inside libgcrypt... This also happens on debian/sparc.. making gossip unusable..
well, isn't that an upstream thing? i have no sparc to test this.
This has been reported upstream, but they should probably be marked -sparc... (gossip, libgcrypt and gnutls..) and at least for gossip replace the dep with ssl? ( !sparc?(....
well isn't that a sparc thing to do then ? Can you btw provide the upstream bugreport link as a point of reference ?
its probably a sparc thing... upstream is at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144206
can't really do much about something i can't reproduce :(
Oliver, Have any of the recent updates to libgcrypt helped this at all? I'd test but I'm away from any SPARCs with a GUI for a bit.
I dont currently have a sparc with gui either...
got back access to a sparc box.. and no its not fixed... But its fixed on debian unstable.. And they use libgcrypt 1.2.0 and gnutls 1.0.16 ... And btw.. the current ~sparc gossip doesnt build with the latest loudmouth... once this is fixed, you should mark gossip 0.7.8
OK, I have a fix for libgcrypt which appears to do the job. It appears the problem was with how the rijndael.c file in libgcrypt's ciphers was aligning things. A diff from CVS appears to fix the problem as now gossip and gaim work for me on SSL based jabber servers where they didn't before. Alastair, any problems with me adding said patch in a new rev bump?
weeve, no problems, go ahead and add it.
Added libgcrypt-1.2.0-r2 with the fix for sparc and bumped gossip to 0.7.8. Feel free to re-open if this is still a problem for you. Thanks for the bug :)
I can confirm that its fixed.. thank you
