One question: In the title of this bug you mention -gcc3.2.bin, but the error message is for gcc2.95.bin. Which gcc are you really running (I suppose 3.2), and have you tried to find out why the ebuild wants to download the -gcc2.95.bin version?

I had trouble with an emerge system based on the jre problem. Here's the lines from the ebuild file (blackdown-jre-1.4.1.ebuild) that seem to be revelant: SRC_URI=" x86? ( http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.blackdown.org/java-linux/JDK-1.4.1/i386/01/j2re-1.4.1-01-linux-i586-gcc3.2.bin http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.blackdown.org/java-linux/JDK-1.4.1/i386/01/j2re-1.4.1-01-linux-i586-gcc2.95.bin ) ... )" In the src_unpack section it checks the gcc version: if [[ $(gcc-major-version) -eq 3 && $(gcc-minor-version) -ge 2 ]]; then want_gcc_ver=3.2 else want_gcc_ver=2.95 fi So that's why the 2.95 version is downloaded. Fixed. This screw up was because of some "QA fixes", evidently.
