digikam has a feature of exporting photos with dlna. Hupnp api doesn't work with ps3 so I tried minidlna. The minidlna ebuild does put the binary in /usr/sbin/minidlnad Digikam expects a "minidlna" binary, it doesn't accept the ending "d" (Debian puts it in /usr/bin/minidlna) A cd /usr/local/bin and ln -s /usr/sbin/minidlnad minidlna makes the wizard accept Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Export/export via DLNA 2. Select binary (my try /usr/local/bin/minidlna) and minidlna-api 3. Select pictures and press "Start" Actual Results: nothing happens, no respond at all. Debian follows upstream location too, it was /usr/bin/minidlna and switched to minidlnad at some point.
I am sorry, I just looked at the stable wheezy. So digikam has to follow up? Or am I doing something terribly wrong to start the minidlna(d) by digikam?

testet minidlna 1.1.5 with... digikam 4.4.0-r1 as user: AVM media android app & ps3 don't find it digikam 4.4.0-r1 as root: AVM media android app shows me that there are 5 pictures (true) but displays just a placeholder, ps3 doesn't find it. minidlna just with manual start & minidlna.conf mdeia_dir-config: AVM media android app shows no thumbnails but the pictures, ps3 shows both Wanted to test digikam & kipi-plugins 4.14 and failed running into several ncurces-slotting and cmake-errors :-( sorry for that late responding
but I can select minidlna in digikam now without manual linking.
Sorry for late but successful testing. Working setup with media-gfx/digikam-7.1.0 and a Panasonic TV with latest updates. Seems to work now complete without minidlna now. Tested: Pictures shown of several images from laptop on a Panasonic-TV. Anyway I believe the bug can be closed, thanks you.
