After removing "gnome" from my use path everything worked fine :-). When using the gnome flag the compiler crashes on: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I.. -I.. -I../gdk-pixbuf -I../gdk-pixbuf -I/us r/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/usr/include /glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/include/gnome-1.0 -DNEED_GNOMESUPPORT_H -I/usr/lib/gnome-libs/include -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/us r/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -DPIXBUF_LIBDIR= \"/usr/lib/gdk-pixbuf/loaders\" -O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe -c gnome-canvas-pixbu f.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/gnome-canvas-pixbuf.lo gnome-canvas-pixbuf.c:25:37: libgnomeui/gnome-canvas.h: No such file or director y gnome-canvas-pixbuf.c:26:42: libgnomeui/gnome-canvas-util.h: No such file or dir ectory gnome-canvas-pixbuf.c:27:40: libart_lgpl/art_rgb_affine.h: No such file or direc tory gnome-canvas-pixbuf.c:28:45: libart_lgpl/art_rgb_rgba_affine.h: No such file or directory Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.add "gnome" to the use variable 2.emerge Actual Results: The result is a compile failure Portage 2.0.50-r8 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.4.25-gentoo-r2)================================================================= System uname: 2.4.25-gentoo-r2 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2100+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r3 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.1/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://gentoo.inode.at/source/ http://gentoo.inode.at/ ftp://sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/Linux/gentoo http://gentoo.math.bme.hu" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X Xaw3d acpi alsa apm arts avi berkdb cdr crypt cups directfb emacs encode esd foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 guile imlib java jpeg ldap libg++ libwww mad mikmod mmx mozilla mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png postgres ppds python qt quicktime readline sdl slang spell ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex tiff tk truetype usb video_cards_nvidia x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib"
What version of gdk-pixbuf is this?
emerge says: * media-libs/gdk-pixbuf Latest version available: 0.22.0 Latest version installed: 0.22.0 Size of downloaded files: 388 kB Homepage: http://www.gtk.org/ Description: GNOME Image Library License: GPL-2 LGPL-2
dunno.. the gnome USE flag has no effect on the gdk-pixbuf package. I can't reproduce and i don't see how this could happen. I'm gonna close this until you can prove this is not some local mess-up .
