Is it OK to stabilize =media-libs/libdvdcss-1.3.0 ? If so, please CC all arches which have stable keywords for older versions of this package.
Yes, but we need to do stable requests for libdvdread-5.0.0-r2, libdvdnav-5.0.1 at the same time.
If that versions are good to go we should be able to simply edit summary to list the three ;)

Is there anything currently blocking this bug? I ask because libdvdnav & libdvdread =< 4.9 are blocking VLC 2.2.x from becoming stable. I don't see any recent bugs in libdvdcss, libdvdnav, or libdvdread that would appear to be cause a holdup. If there are outstanding issues, I'd be happy to help work on them, but at this point, VLC is stuck until we can get traction on this bug.

Feel free to test it on your architecture (build with all USE flag combinations on a stable system. Build all reverse dependencies. Test runtime to play some DVD's from within VLC or other reverse deps.). When everyting is fine report back here (mention your arch). If you find bugs, report them.
Anyway... this doesn't block you from also CCing arches in parent bug report, arches will stabilize things in order and, that way, you won't get blocked by last arch on every "step" until reaching the vlc bug
arm stable
Pacho, thanks for the suggestion; I will ask the Gentoo Dev I've been working with CC the arches. I didn't want to do it too early before most of the deps were stable, but now it's just the libdvd* for most arches. Also, I just noticed this bug title should be updated (libdvdread appears twice); I do not have access to make the change myself. Myckel, I'll go ahead and do testing on my arch (amd64), and I will report back. I have most of the reverse deps installed already, but will rebuild all to be sure.

(In reply to Markus Meier from comment #8) > arm stable Markus, I see that libdvdread 5.0.3 is stable for arm, but media-libs/libdvdnav seems to be missed. Is there anything holding it up, or may it be marked stable (I need both libdvd* libraries > 4.9 for dvd support in VLC 2.2.1 on arm).
