Description Kelly 2004-06-09 15:14:44 UTC
When emerging hostap-drivers on my system, I got some access violations slapped in my face by emerge. It took my some time to figure out the cause of the problem: Sandboxing. My idea is this: Let emerge state the actual cause of access violations where possible. In my case for example it might have said: 'Building files with FEUTURES=sandbox may cause this.' Or another option is to let certain packages, like hostap, that need or want to build outside the sandbox, display a notice of this fact. IMHO this feature will save quite a lot of Gentoo newbies some headaches.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

later versions of portage are much more verbose about this.
