Description Neil Collins 2004-06-08 22:15:51 UTC
On a pentium 2, glib 2.4.1 will not compile, however 2.4.0 will.
1.2.10-r5 is ok too.

Here is the result of the output:
emerge -v -a glib

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!

and if you use set makejobs to 1 ?
Comment 2 Neil Collins 2004-06-11 11:26:57 UTC
Even if I change MAKEOPTS= "-j1" or even "-j2" I get the same problem.
Comment 3 Neil Collins 2004-06-11 20:20:52 UTC
the compile problem now fixed. Here is what I did to fix it:

emerged:
to sys-apps/file-4.08 from sys-apps/file-4.06
to sys-libs/glibc-2.3.3.20040420 from sys-libs/glibc-2.3.2-r9
to sys-devel/gcc-3.3.3-r6 from sys-devel/gcc-3.3.2-r5

I emerged these three files during a emerge -v world, and glib now compiles cleanly. Sometimes good things come to those who stay current.
Comment 4 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-06-12 04:57:52 UTC
dunno.. it shouldn't stop working for no-good reason, being current shouldn't be a necessity.
