Description Jack Taylor 2004-06-08 17:37:38 UTC
To reiterate the summary, my Ktouch 1.3 (using KDE 3.2.2) shows a black text entry window (instead of green) when presented with this text (it was taken from the article referenced in the URL and was a continuous line - no line breaks):

Sun is spawning some of the rumors without giving details, which I think is bad form", George Weiss, vice president and research director at Gartner , told LinuxInsider in an exclusive interview. Why are they saying this now? Sun has been recently troubled by competitive dynamics in the Unix market, HP (NYSE: HPQ) and IBM (NYSE: IBM) are a bit stronger, the dot-com implosions happened, and -- this is my thinking -- they are w

This appears to be the same no matter what keyboard layout, lesson scheme and colour set is used. When I discovered it I was using dvorak.ktouch and the classic colour scheme with the dvorak keyboard layout.

The window only goes black when the program asks the user to type in text at the beginning of the line that contains the offending string. I don't know if it returns to normal after this line.

Here are my emerge --info results:

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a custom lecture in Ktouch with the above text as a single line
2. View the lecture

Actual Results:
Ktouch displayed a black background against which black text is shown upon
character entry.

Expected Results:
Ktouch should have displayed a green background against which black text is
shown on character entry.
