Description Mark Dominik Bürkle 2014-12-12 11:41:32 UTC
net-voip/telepathy-gabble-0.18.3 requires openssl[-bindist].
That conflicts with net-misc/openssh, which requires openssl[bindist=],
an emerge of "gnome" seems impossible with USE=openssl.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. not sure if this is reproducible without my world file from an older install, which I threw in.
2. eselect profile set default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/gnome/systemd
3. emerge -evuND @world
4. emerge -v gnome
Actual Results:
emerge refuses to build and complains:

Total: 295 packages (291 new, 3 in new slots, 1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 471.144 KiB

!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:

openssh is part of the system profile.
Comment 2 Mark Dominik Bürkle 2014-12-12 11:43:23 UTC
(In reply to Mark Dominik Bürkle from comment #1)

openssh is part of the system set.
Comment 3 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2014-12-12 12:34:22 UTC
It doesn't conflict if you set -bindist also for openssh that is the one that is requesting openssl to enable bindist
Comment 4 Mark Dominik Bürkle 2014-12-12 13:44:16 UTC
built/installed with USE=gnutls,
in /etc/portage/package.use:

# doesnt build with openssl[bindist=]
net-voip/telepathy-gabble gnutls
Comment 5 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2014-12-12 17:14:26 UTC
The dependency is needed per bug 460456 and "bindist" is not enabled by default, then, people running with defaults shouldn't get any blocker... and people manually enabling that USE and, then, getting the blocker, are getting it as expected (to either disable bindist or move to gnutls)
