the new gimp ebuild based on the gimp-2.0 build.
i only removed the patches and added the correct SRC_URI.

development release & it's noted that its not parallel installable at this time, so no option to add really even if we had the time to properly maintain it.

I made an experimental ebuild for gimp 2.1.1, available at
http://www.schokokeks.org/~hanno/
It won't be added to portage, but people wanting the bleeding edge can give it a try.

Now it is in the breakmygentoo-tree.

according to the gimp devs it is not, i bet they know better what they're doing than the BMG folks. But besides that we already lack the time to properly maintain the stable version, so i won't get into adding more maintenance pressure.
