I do a lot of research where I install a package that looks interesting in "esearch -S", then read through the documentation to see if I can use it. One thing that would be a real help would be if Gentoo had something like Debian's "dwww". What this does is build a web site from all of the documentation it can find -- HTML, man pages and info documents. I don't know all that much about the underlying mechanisms. I'm going to attempt to build it from source and see what kind of Debian dependencies it has. I know for one that it requires "debconf", but I'm not sure whether it needs that just in the initial setup or during operation as well.
M., it sounds interesting -- but I'd really rather see you do the porting :) Can you re-open this bug when you have something?
