Description Nick Andrade 2014-11-30 10:15:04 UTC
Emerging media-tv/tvheadend-3.4.27 fails during configure, complains about libavcodec <=55.0.0 missing. I have media-video/ffmpeg-2.2.10:0/52.55.55 installed. I installed ffmpeg-0.10.15 however the build still fails.

Comment 1 Leho Kraav (:macmaN @lkraav) 2015-04-04 08:46:07 UTC
This seems to have been fixed in Oct 2014 by https://github.com/tvheadend/tvheadend/commit/419f69df534a334183d15cac90bcacc0e9770f2c

But the last tvheadend-3.9 release is from end of 2013.

So finding some stable date snapshot point for portage is pretty much the only way at the moment. Correct me if I'm wrong.

eeeeeer ??? What about acquiring the patch of that commit and adding to to $FILESDIR....
Comment 3 Leho Kraav (:macmaN @lkraav) 2015-04-07 08:32:18 UTC
Why sure. It all depends on however much time whoever has to work on it. I am supersqueezed atm.
Comment 4 Michael Seifert 2015-05-11 18:20:59 UTC
As Leho suggested, it might be best to look for a stable git version. Simply adding a diff of the above mentioned commit as a patch won't work.

I actually did a backport of said commit for tvheadend-3.9, only to discover that v3.9 does not start at all (with or without ffmpeg).

Integrating the patch into tvheadend-3.4.27 will most likely involve some extra work.
Comment 5 Alexis Ballier gentoo-dev 2015-10-16 12:05:45 UTC
this seems fixed in media-tv/tvheadend-4.0.6
