Bug 5308 – kde-i18n ebuild failure

I've recently had to rebuild my Gentoo box -- actually by choice -- and 
have run into a slight problem with the kde-i18n ebuild running on Gentoo 1.2 
with KDE 3.0.2 It appears this is not a dependancy issue, and I have run out of 
ideas. Can anyone shed some light on this challenge?

what version of gettext do you have installed?

Sorry for the neglect, but I removed Gentoo a couple of months ago, and have      
not as yet reinstalled. When I do, I suppose this particular bug will be a
