when i do emerge gnome, the build hangs on 
localhost root # emerge gnome
Calculating dependencies ...done!

Expected Results:  
should have continued compiling ;)

I had switched to ~x86 to see if the gnome build continued there, as I had
problems with compiling gEdit 2.6.0 before.

The problem was that I had personal builds lying around in /usr/local from earlier, so its fixed now, sorry. :-/
