I use kdewalletmanager to confirm my ICQ password and sometimes I hacked in the wrong password because Iam too hectically. Now you have to hit a few times the backspace key to delete the wrong password (You now think "OMG"! But the password is hidden and I think thats a really bad behavior because you couldn't see what you have to delete) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start any programm which use kdewalletmanager to confirm a password 2.Enter a wrong password (main passw.) and click OK 3.Now enter the correct password and it will fail because kwm adds the new enterd password to the wrong password Actual Results: See details... Expected Results: Clear the password text box after a wrong password was entered or show "*" for any char.. (The Security-Systemoptions to show "*" for each entered char. have no effect to kdewalletmanager! Is it right?) Sorry for my bad english! ;) Portage 2.0.50-r7 (default-x86-2004.0, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.4. 26-AthlonXP) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.26-AthlonXP i686 AMD Athlon(TM) XP1800+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.15 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r3 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3. 2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu http://distro.ibiblio. org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X alsa apm arts avi berkdb bidi cdr crypt cups dvd encode esd faad foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 imlib java jpeg kde ldap libg++ libwww mad matroska mikmod motif mpeg mysql ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png ppds python qt quicktime readline sdl slang spell ssl tcltk tcpd truetype wxwindows x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib"
OK I'am damn stupid! ;) This isn't a bug, after a restart of X, kdewalletmanager now shows the "*". But after entering the wrong password kdewalltetmanager doesn't deltete the edit box. Thats not a bug but it isn't clean, I think.
