I would do this changes (feel free to give me the OK to do it myself if you want):
- Drop G2CONF and, instead, pass configure arguments directly to gnome2_src_configure
- gnome2_src_unpack is not needed to be called explicitly
- gnome2.eclass can handle the .la files by itself
- All the src_install stuff can be replaced by nothing as eclass will do that
