The kernel sources for the solars portability layer (sys-kernel/spl) don't have a deblob flag. Most other kernel sources have this flag. Would it be possible to add this flag for sys-kernel/spl as well?

What blobs would that be? It looks like the unpacked sources only have text files and no data "blobs".

The SPL does not have blobs. If you find any, it is a bug.
