Version 1.5.3 has been released today. The build system changed, so I edited the src_compile() from 1.5.2. Actually as it now just uses "configure; make; make install" it also works without any src_compile() at all, but I didn't know if this is desired behaviour for ebuilds.

Okay, I've added your ebuild to Portage. Only change I had to make was to add a 'dodoc' line to your ebuild. Otherwise, looks good. The ebuild should appear on your local rsync mirror in about an hour. Please emerge it, and let me know whether it still works for you or not. And then let's talk about package maintenance ;-) Best regards, Stu
Thanks for adding it, but I'm off to bed pretty soon (hey, I'm living in CET ;). I'll try the ebuild tomorrow, also I'm pretty confident of its working, because I'm using the program for over two weeks now, and I guess your "dodoc" addition hasn't changed that. :)
Hi Stu. I just installed the version from the official tree, and as expected everything is working flawlessly. Regards, Michael
Okay, I've marked it stable on x86. Can you think of a good reason to keep the ebuilds for the older versions? If not, I'll get those tidied up later. Best regards, Stu
As far as I'm aware there should be no reason to keep old versions around. It gets better with every release, without adding extra cruft, so using an old version seems rather pointless to me. BTW: I'm really looking forward to the next releases: "I've ripped apart Snownews' network code. Most of this is just purely cosmetical and cleans up some mess. Though it makes room for multithreading. I will probably add this in one of the next versions which should speed up downloading significantly and allow for continuously updating of feeds in the background."
Closing bug.
