I'd like to propose a new developer: Olivier Fisette <olivier.fisette@sympatico.ca>, nickname ribosome When you do a bugzilla search for stuff he proposed/commented on you'll see that he already did quite some work for gentoo, and maybe it's easier for all of us to let him commit his changes by himself instead of bugging us :-) Seriously: He wants to contribute to scientific packages which are useful for bioinformatics and molecular biologists, and I have the impression he knows what he's doing. That's why I'm not afraid of being his mentor.
Need physical location, please. Evaluation period ends June 18.
I live in Quebec City in the Province of Quebec, Canada.
Recruiters has received everything required for ribosome's evaluation period. I'll get together with him on the 18th to review his quiz.
Account is setup. I'll send out his new dev announcement this evening when I get home.
FYI, he's also doing excellent work on the French translations of our docs.
Added his info to my new dev announcement mega-mail...
Olivier shows no CVS and bugzilla activity since Sep 19, 2007. Today I'm starting his retirement procedure by sending him the first mail.
Hi Łukasz, I have indeed been inactive for some time due to real life constraints and new interests. I would really like to continue contributing to Gentoo as a developer, though, so today I resumed developing for the science herd. I will not be as active as I once was, but I think I can dedicate an hour or two a week to the project. If I find myself unable to maintain a minimal level of activity, I will ask to be retired. Kind regards,
Great, thanks for that information. I'm really happy you're staying with us. This bug is closed. On a side note, when you're busy with life, please use .away system, especially if it's longer period. This way you will avoid being targetted by undertakers in future. :-)
Wrong resolution.
WONTFIX.

Olivier plans to retire this summer but he wishes to be given a chance to sort some stuff out before he does that. I think we should let him do that. Olivier, please reopen this bug when you're ready to be processed.
I am ready to be processed. :P As announced on g-dev, I am ready to leave the dev team. New EMBOSS release is in the tree and everything else I still wished to work on is done. I already re-suscribed to the mailing lists I am interested in with my personal address (ofisette@gmail.com), so you can unsuscribe my Gentoo address from all mailing lists. If you set up an alias for my mail, please also use this address. I would like to keep my Bugzilla account but change the email address to ofisette@gmail.com. Please tell me if I should do that myself or wait for you to change the permissions on the account. I have no forum account. I can't see anything else (apart from dev.gentoo.org and CVS access) that needs taking care of. Thank you in advance,

Olivier, that isn't possible, but after you register a new account you can set a watch in your g.o account (Edit -> Prefs -> Email Preferences -> User Watching).
(In reply to comment #15) > that isn't possible, but after you register a new account you can set a watch > in your g.o account (Edit -> Prefs -> Email Preferences -> User Watching). Ok, my new account is set up.
Starting today, I will no longer check my Gentoo mail. You can reach me at ofisette@gmail.com if necessary.
Let's procede with Olivier's retirement.
