Please post your `emerge -vpq x11-libs/fltk' output in a comment.
Comment 2 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-11-14 13:03:46 UTC
Looks like the ebuild and configure.ac patch deliberately use hard-coded values for the include directory. Instead of fltk-config --cflags.
Comment 3 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-11-14 13:05:03 UTC
The FLTK patch additionally removes the header check for FL/Fl.H from configure.

I have to find a better web browser than this.

rerwork autotools

It now uses pkgconfig for alsa and fltk-config for the required fltk libs/cflags

And I too remove the header checks for alsa and fltk. If we have the alsa pkgconfig file and fltk-config we _should_ be able to safely assume we have the headers as well.

autotools-update.patch

New patch also fixes some deprecated autotools usage.

* Fix deprecated AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE use
* Fix deprecated AC_INIT use
* Replace deprecated AC_HAVE_HEADERS with AC_CHECK_HEADERS
* Cleanup AC_CHECK_HEADERS, string.h and stdlib.h checks are already done in AC_HEADER_STDC
* Use fltk-config for cflags/libs
* Use pkgconfig for alsa
Comment 10 jospezial 2015-08-07 11:27:22 UTC
The ebuild was last changed more than 2 years ago and has this bug.
Is there any chance to fix it?

Can I see the development of the source somewhere?
