Description Gert Andersen 2014-11-12 18:01:32 UTC
Gentoo amd64 x86_63 isn't working on a clean install.
When I is is on to install gentoo Linux amd64 x86_64 after I have cleaned my 80G sda harddisk with sda1-boot sda2-swap and sda3-root, and is on to do the new install and have 'emerge gentoo-sources' 'emerge genkernel' and too later have 'emerge brub:0' is the hardly bugs in the stage3 and portage files.
1. genkernel is on to compile kernel and is reporting /dev/@mounts is not found, and is just compilingon without it.
Next 2. I getting on the other emerge and setup and it look like it have been gone fine, but there is still the kernel problem error there have caused boot problems.

I is on to reboot and booting up, then come grub with bug errors from the install of the kernel.
grub can't find out to read grub.conf as it shall and all settings in grub.conf is bad reading - bas screen looks and showing gives hard se see what grubloader shows, but i can by editing see that grub not getting the right keymap and chars in, grub can't read _ = / signs in the grub.conf lines.
So it is liek there is something worng and missing in the handbook for amd64 setup.

When I testing the installed gentoo through by Linux rescuecd and use choise for harddisk startup where the cd start up with it its own /boot/ then is there no problems.
