After installation of dhcpcd-ui manual work is required for adjusting the "privileged socket".

Is it possible to get this done more user friedly directly by the ebuild?

How? You are asking if this package can modify a configuration file of another package? And you're even opening a bug for that?! You should ask those kind of questionin in the forums please and give the maintainers a break or include info about how doing it in the wiki (if not done (bug #522854 comment 13)).
