Description Alan Hourihane 2014-11-10 19:01:29 UTC
Trying to run

/etc/init.d/vmware-workstation-server results in....

# /etc/init.d/vmware-workstation-server start
 * Starting VMware Authentication Daemon ...                                                      [ ok ]
 * Starting VMware Workstation Server ...                                                         [ ok ]

But then when checking....

# /etc/init.d/vmware-workstation-server status
 * status: crashed

Also, issuing stop results in this bad output....

# /etc/init.d/vmware-workstation-server stop
 * Shutdown VMs in the AutoStart Sequence ...
/etc/init.d/vmware-workstation-server: line 41: /opt/vmware/bin/vmware-vim-cmd: No such file or directory                                                                                                 [ !! ]
 * Stopping VMware Workstation Server ...
 * start-stop-daemon: no matching processes found                                                 [ ok ]
 * Stopping VMware Authentication Daemon ...
/opt/vmware/sbin/vmware-authdlauncher: no process found                                           [ !! ]
