as of now (12pm 3rd june), after emerge sync'ing from different servers, the problem persists:
>>> emerge (1 of 2) net-mail/mailwrapper-0.2 to /

!!! File is corrupt or incomplete. (Digests do not match)

Hmmm.  We uploaded a new version of the tarball yesterday.  I just checked 
gentoo.oregonstate.edu, and that mirror has the right version.  Can you 
try again and report on the mirror(s) that have the bad version?

I removed my downloaded version and did an emerge sync, that fixed it for me

ok its not the matter of rsyncing portage tree, which has correct digest.
its matter of removing downloaded mailwrapper.
