Description Craig Joly 2002-07-19 19:02:48 UTC
Segfaults occur when ruby or perl attempt to load the libplot interface
(ruby-libplot and libplot-perl).  I didn't test the python one but I'm assuming
it probably does the same. It occured on two boxes, both up to date Gentoo 1.2.
CFLAGS="-mcpu=k6 -march=k6 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" (AMD K6-2) and
CFLAGS="-mcpu=i686 -O3 -pipe" (Pentium 4)
It also occured when it was downloaded, compiled and installed by hand instead
of through emerge (no patch, etc). This error does not occur under RedHat 7.2
(plotutils by RPM, interface by hand - make, make site-install) or under Solaris
5.8 (everything by hand).

Hi Craig

Thanks for the report.
Unfortunately I am a bit confused: what package are you talking about?
I cannot see ruby/perl/python bindings installed by plotutils ebuild, nor could
I find standalone bindings packages.

Could you please clarify what package is problematic. Please also include
detailed steps necessary to reproduce the problem.

Thanks!

George

No clarification for more than two month.
