And finally, the package I really want. This is a fork of the old PEAR-Mail meant to fix all of the issues with new versions of PHP-5.x, leaving the old PEAR-Mail for 4.x compatibility.

I'm running this and its dependencies on one of our web servers right now and it looks like a drop-in replacement for php-5.x.

I'm happy to maintain/commit if the php team doesn't want to worry about it.

These guys never got their act together. Use dev-php/PHPMailer instead.
