Description m0par 2014-11-01 14:54:35 UTC
ufraw-0.20 fails to load raw images into gimp.

If I run ufraw directly, load a picture, then click the gimp button, I get "Opening '/tmp/IMG_1034.CR2_92UUOX.ufraw' failed: Could not open '/tmp/IMG_1034.CR2_92UUOX.ufraw' for reading: Unknown reason" (file exists).

If I run shotwell, then use the "open with raw editor" menu to open the raw image in gimp, the ufraw window does not appear, and gimp apparently tries to open the file as a tiff, as it gives a bunch of "tiff image message" errors.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge ufraw-0.20 on ~amd64
2. try to open raw image (in this case, Canon CR2, as it is the only raw-image source I have) directly through ufraw, or through shotwell to gimp via ufraw
Actual Results:
ufraw directly: gimp says cannot open the ufraw file in /tmp/.

via shotwell ->ufraw-> gimp: ufraw window doesn't open, and gimp fails trying to open the file as a tiff

Expected Results:
Open the file in gimp.

Reverting to ufraw-0.19.2 fixes the issue.

This is with gimp-2.8.14 and shotwell-0.20.1-r1.

Comment 1 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2014-11-04 21:00:00 UTC
Upstream seems to have fixed this issue in cvs. I've added the patch in my overlay (you'll just need to rebuild ufraw from my overlay). Could you please verify if the patch works for you too? Once you verified, I'll push the patch to the main tree.
Thanks in advance!
Comment 2 m0par 2014-11-05 00:34:58 UTC
Yes, the patch in your ufraw-0.20 does fix the problems for me.

Thanks!
Comment 3 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2014-11-05 18:20:57 UTC
Fixed in cvs, thanks for reporting and testing! Closing.
