Description Matt 2002-07-19 16:42:29 UTC
Problem: The 'stable' release of uml in portage will not compile in a KDE3-only
env. Can use it if you also install KDE 2.2, but why do that when you can now
compile it for kde 3...

Solution: Switch to the CVS version from: http://uml.sourceforge.net/uml.tar.bz2
* only tested on PPC, but if it compiles here it probably compiles x86 also
Comment 1 Dan Armak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-21 06:53:37 UTC
The snapshot has compile errors here (x86, gcc3.1) and the curent cvs requires
automake 1.6.2 while we have only 1.6.1. I'll see what I can do.

I've mailed uml-devel list about the gcc3 problems.
Comment 3 Dan Armak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-30 07:27:56 UTC
The uml-devel guys fixed the gcc3 problems and I've packaged a cvs snapshot
that builds with kde3 as well as with gcc 3.1. Enjoy!
