Description Drunkard Zhang 2014-10-28 15:33:46 UTC
app-office/libreoffice-4.3.2.2 should depend on dev-util/valgrind, or it will fail to build.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. quickpkg dev-util/valgrind && emerge -Cq dev-util/valgrind
2. emerge -1 =app-office/libreoffice-4.3.2.2

Actual Results:
Build failed:

Comment 2 Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2014-11-01 17:10:59 UTC
Your attachment is double gzipped. OK, so libreoffice checks for valgrind - ebuild should take care of that (libreoffice clearly does not depend on valgrind).

When you unmerged valgrind, why does libreoffice still find valgrind.h?

[snip]
checking whether to enable runtime optimizations... yes
checking valgrind/valgrind.h usability... yes
checking valgrind/valgrind.h presence... yes
checking for valgrind/valgrind.h... yes

Then later fails because memcheck.h is missing.
Comment 3 Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2014-11-01 20:15:35 UTC
You can try the new patch in bug 523934. Still it would be interesting why, and what valgrind.h header libreoffice is finding on your system.
Comment 5 Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2014-12-28 20:47:07 UTC
OK I talked to some of the libreoffice developers, and the basic statement was "nothing breaks if valgrind is deinstalled later". Which means in my opinion we dont really have to care.

In your case somehow only half of the headers seem to be there. Which can confuse just about everything.
