I got this error today while trying to rsync a portage snapshot from gatech.edu:

rsync --no-motd -L rsync://rsync.gtlib.gatech.edu/gentoo//snapshots/portage-latest.tar.bz2 portage-snapshot.tar.bz2
rsync: server sent "rsync: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" rather than greeting
rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1516) [Receiver=3.0.9]

Other mirrors (e.g. rit.edu) appear fine.

Seems to be working now again.
