I'm running an ~x86 system and while running emerge -uDv world, the emerge of gnome-base/ORBit2-2.10.2 hung with the following output. ... Testing any with string sequences ... Testing any with longs... Testing any with strings... Testing any with structs... Testing Any with exception... Testing Anys equivalence... Testing Sequence of Any... Testing TypeCodes... Testing Contexts... Testing IInterface code... Testing DerivedServer ... Testing Misc bits... Testing IOR marshalling ... Testing LifeCycle bits... pre gnome 2.4 stubs ... post gnome 2.4 stubs ... Testing Fatal invocations ... ** (process:27001): WARNING **: FIXME: wait for completion unimplemented I proceeded to skip the update to allow everything else to update and then ran the following: env PORT_LOGDIR="/var/log/portage" emerge -auDv world Since it only wanted to update ORBit2, I answered yes and it proceeded to hang again in the same place. I have placed a copy of the log file from emerge at http://varnerfamily.org/pvarner/gentoo/2217-ORBit2-2.10.2.log.gz I could not locate anything else of interest in the /var/tmp/portage working directory. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -v --oneshot ORBit2 2. 3. Actual Results: When running the make check-TESTS, the compilation hangs. Expected Results: The compilation of the software should either complete successfully or exit with an error. ORBit2-2.10.3 just installed fine on the affected system, and 2.10.2 installed fine on my x86 system. So i'm not sure what the problem was, but it appears to be resolved now. I would mark this bug resolved myself, but I'm unsure what to set the resoultion to.
i've never seen that happen, but i'm glad it works now for you...
