Description Dennis Freise 2004-06-01 05:08:03 UTC
I tried multiple times to sync with the rsync-server on IP 128.176.191.21, which is in the rsync.de.gentoo.org rotation, but it fails with the following message:

rsync: server sent "rsync version 2.6.2 protocol version 28" rather than greeting
rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1062)

I myself have rsync-2.6.0-r1.

Christian,

It seems your mirror is having some issues with users syncing to it. Did you recently upgrade to rsync-2.6.2, or have you been running it for quite some time? Temporarily, I am removing your mirror from the rsync.de rotation until we figure this out. Thanks!

Jeffrey

Hi Ho Jeffrey.

It was an xinetd issue, rsyncd was started with wrong options.

I fixed it, you can put us back in the rotation.
