When starting cirkuit:

> Circuit Macros could not be found on your system. The application will not work if the macros are not installed. Do you want to proceed with the installation?

The thing is, I just have installed dev-tex/circuit_macros-7.9.6.
Comment 1 Michael Palimaka (kensington) gentoo-dev 2014-10-25 18:23:36 UTC
It appears to be a deliberate upstream design decision. Loading from the local user directory is hard-coded throughout the code.
Comment 2 Johannes Huber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2016-06-22 15:37:36 UTC
I would suggest to report this upstream.
