I had the same identical issue. After some struggling, I figured that the config.py script is looking for QtGui/QtGuimod.sip in /usr/share/sip, but it's not there. Instead, it's in /usr/share/sip/PyQt4 So I temporarily solved it this way (using a custom local portage overlay): $ diff /usr/portage/dev-python/qscintilla-python/qscintilla-python-2.8.4.ebuild /usr/local/portage/dev-python/qscintilla-python/qscintilla-python-2.8.4.ebuild 46c46 < --pyqt-sipdir="${EPREFIX}"/usr/share/sip --- > --pyqt-sipdir="${EPREFIX}"/usr/share/sip/PyQt4 That managed to emerge fine. But I am not sure if this is the proper solution, since I am a newbie.
Can confirme. The pyqt-sipdir path is the trigger. Changing it to /usr/share/sip/PyQt4 solves the Problem. Thanks to Giacomo!
Fixed in -r1, thanks.
This was "fixed in -r1", but not in the "stable" version, and then the -r1 revision was dropped from the tree, so I'm now hitting this on a new install. emerge --info: Portage 2.2.26 (python
