Another option would be to add "-f" to the rm command.
Just hit this bug. Might be solved by a version bump; manual install.py appears to detect whether clang is present and proceeds without it.
I had this bug too, I fixed it by adding -f to the line in the ebuild like suggested in comment 5
The package was removed.
