Description Klemen Mihevc 2014-10-13 20:06:17 UTC
Since kernel 3.16.x im getting constant errors in kern.log, if i boot with old kernel 3.15.10 error is gone. Some change in kernel obviously creates this error, however im not sure if bind should adapt to kernel change or kernel is buggy. I also reported this bug to https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82461 and netdev@vger.kernel.org without any answer. This error is random and doesnt seems to do anything, just log file is growing... This error sometimes happens 10 times in 10sec, sometimes it wont happen for 10+ min and nothing wierd happens in other log files (like syslog named.log) at same time...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot with kernel >= 3.16.x
2. look in to kern.log for error
3.
Actual Results:

Expected Results:
Not produce error

Comment 3 Christian Ruppert (idl0r) gentoo-dev 2014-10-19 09:17:21 UTC
I'm sorry but I don't see how this is related to BIND.
Comment 4 Klemen Mihevc 2014-10-21 00:05:27 UTC
well it wasn't really but it was interesting only bind produced error for me. Anyway seems to be fixed in 3.18rc1 kernel.
Comment 5 Christian Ruppert (idl0r) gentoo-dev 2014-10-21 18:41:42 UTC
Ok, thanks! I'll close it as CANTFIX then.
