If I try to check the printer with 'hp-check -t', it complains about missing reportlab:

root@impala:/usr/src/linux(113)# hp-check -t

But reportlab is installed:

root@impala:/usr/src/linux(115)# qlist -Iv reportlab
dev-python/reportlab-3.1.8

Reemerging reportlab and hplip does not change anything.

Looks like something went wrong pasting this. Maybe as a file attachment it will work better?

I can read everything and I already did an attachment with the output of 'hp-check -t'. Can't you read it?
Comment 4 Daniel Pielmeier gentoo-dev 2014-10-10 16:23:50 UTC
LOL, it reports reportlab installed version as 3.1.8 and then says it is missing. Try downgrading to version 2.6.

However this shouldn't be the problem as reportlab is optional and should only be required to be able to scan and fax.

What about this messages, it seems you have a problem with your wireless network!?

Do you have access to the printer? You could try if printing via USB works

Is hplip-3.14.6 the first version with this problems?

Neither the printer nor the computer, which started the print job has a wlan interface, both are connected by twisted pair ethernet. I tried only to print a web site about "WLAN problems".

At least ping and telnet to printer IP address works:

I do not know, if my printer has a USB interface. I had an parallel interface which I replaced by something like a HP JetDirect 200m LIO print server 10/100 Ethernet.

> Is hplip-3.14.6 the first version with this problems?

I had since the replacement of parallel Interface sometimes print problems. Rebooting the printer and the computer was my way to solve these problems.

Okay I did not recognize this was the title of the web-page you were trying to print, however there are still the timeout messages.

According to http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/models/laserjet/hp_laserjet_1300.html it should!

This does not really answer my questions. Since when and which version do you experience this issue.
Comment 7 Daniel Pielmeier gentoo-dev 2015-04-04 12:53:56 UTC
Okay this has all nothing to to with reportlab. The reportlab detection is another issue (https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1345795).

Does the error still exist with newer versions? Did you try to remove all printer queues and set them ap again?

Closing this with NEEDINFO as the questions were never answered.
