Description Gad Kadosh 2004-05-30 13:38:26 UTC
the gstreamer ebuilds are all updated to 0.8.x series, and quite some older 0.6.x ebuilds were removed from portage, even though both can be installed together. the app that gave me the problem is totem which the ~x86 ebuild of it in portage still uses 0.6.x gstreamer ehich is available, but i am missing the alsasink plugin for 0.6.x, and thus totem does not work. i see in portage that some other 0.6.x plugins were removed including osssink. i think 0.6.x stuff should still be available in portage as long as other apps in portage require them..... makes sense.... :)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

osssink is available for the 0.6 series in the tree.
alsasink was never available for the 0.6 series in the tree to start with, because it is/was broken.

So please check your facts & search (the alsa problem has been brought up in earlier bugs iirc).
