Created attachment 385976 [details] build.log.gz From the build log: ... Using CC=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-clang Using CXX=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-clang ... I have also verified by watching processes that it actually is using clang, even though you can't see the invocation (bug 524338). $ emerge --info cups Portage 2.2.14_rc1 (python 2.7.8-final-0, net-print/cups-1.7.5 is not in the tree anymore. Is it fixed in the current versions and can be closed?
cups-2.2.6 is using gcc, so I'd say this is fixed. The only mention of clang in the (now verbose) build log is the slightly odd configure line checking for x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-clang... x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc which I'm guessing is caused by Gentoo making it pick the right compiler somehow.
